Aleksandra Mihailovic joined Kane, Shannon & Weiler in 2016. She obtained her BA in criminology from Simon Fraser University and her LLB from the University of Windsor. She has been practicing in civil litigation since being called to the bar in 2008.
Prior to law school, Aleks worked for Crown Victim Services and was a coordinator for the Burnaby RCMP Victim Services. After law school, Aleks worked for the Residential Tenancy Office as an Arbitrator in Burnaby hearing cases involving landlord-tenant disputes. Aleks was responsible for making decisions on how these disputes would be resolved.
Aleks practices general litigation with an emphasis on insurance defence and family law. She has appeared before the Court of Appeal for British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Small Claims Court of British Columbia on a variety of matters including interlocutory applications, chambers applications, trials and judicial review hearings. Aleks has participated in matters before various administrative bodies including the British Columbia Residential Tenancy Branch and the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal.
Outside of the practice of law, Aleks enjoys travelling and activities including cycling, boxing and hiking.
